FLOWER POWER!

BEWARE THE DAFFODIL

(Really?)

Although Daffodils have almost finished blooming here in Northern Virginia, it’s never too late to learn that some DAFFODILS can KILL the other flowers in an arrangement. It’s hard to imagine a Daffodil killing anything, right? But some exude a sticky sap that withers everything else in a vase.

I’ve always had Poet Daffodils, which I love, and which are some of the latest to bloom, and I’ve never had a problem with them. But I suggest that if you have unknown Daffodils, you condition them extra carefully, change their water several times, and trim the ends at least twice before using them in an arrangement.
